Cooked penne pasta, chicken tenderloin, sliced smoked sausage, 1 bottle of Ragu Tradition sauce, 1 bell pepper chopped, 1 small onion chopped, 1/2 rib celery chopped, 1/2 c mushrooms, 1 tablespoon green onion (garnish), 1 tablespoon flat leave parsley chopped, 1 teaspoon ground thyme, 1 teaspoon white pepper, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 3 bay leaves, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon hot sauce, 1 tablespoon kosher salt, pinch of red pepper flakes, pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon butter.
Cook pasta according to box directions. Meanwhile cook chicken and sausage in a separate skillet for about 5 minutes. In a large pot add vegetable oil and butter. Add onion, bell peppers, celery, salt, black pepper, garlic powder and cayenne. Sweat vegetables for about 2 minutes. Add mushroom and sauté for about 3 more minutes. Add Ragu, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, ground thyme, white pepper, parsley and bay leaves. Cook for about 5 minutes. Then add sliced chicken and sausage and cook for about 8 more minutes. Once sauce is complete, add pasta to sauce and garnish with green onions and parsley. Simple right?
Sometimes I add a pinch of sugar to get rid of that twang, as my grandmother would say….LOL
