Hot Chocolate on a Cold Day

Happy Monday!!!!

Hot Chocolate

It is freaking cold out here!!! I can not believe it’s below zero.  It’s officially a snow day and my son is home from school getting into everything. It’s a day for hot chocolate and I found this delicious recipe from Martha Stewart.  It’s Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa and I love it. Sounds good right?

Here we go:

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

5 ounces bittersweet chocolate

2 tablespoons light-brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Warm milk and cream in a medium saucepan over a medium-low heat.  Add chocolate.  Whisk until melted and combined.  Add sugar, and whisk until dissolved.  Continue to warm mixture until thick, about 5 minutes.  Whisk in nutmeg.

This Hot Chocolate is very rich in flavor unlike any other hot chocolate I’ve tasted, but do you expect anything different from Martha Stewart.  I will make this for the family every weekend during the winter.  Perfect for sitting next to the fireplace while it’s 16 below zero outside.  You have to try it, if you love Hot Chocolate.
